Earth and Body

I was thinking about water earlier when I remembered some interesting things. The earth is 2/3 water. Pretty cool, but not fascinating. But our bodies are 2/3 water also. Now that’s pretty cool. Two of God’s greatest living creatures are comprised mostly of the same thing, H2O. Our bodies and the planet they live on are connected by composition. I started realizing that connection. That’s the reason sunsets are so emotional. It’s why a splash of water is cooling. It’s why the food of the earth, fruits and veggies, are so healthy. It’s why the sound of rain is so soothing and springs us to life. Why is exteme heat so dangerous to the earth and us? The heat evaporates a life source of both the earth and our bodies. The lack of water causes dehydration in humans and is why fires in California burn for weeks. Humans and the earth need both day and night. Day to express life, and night to rest and grow.

Both are destroyed and restored by the decisions we make.

Both were created by the Father.

Both are taken care of by Him.

Both will last as long as He wants.

Both will one day be made new.

Any thoughts?

The Cry of the Lost Warrior

How do you get back to it? Back to what you’ve felt God calling you to do. You’ve felt Him calling you to an area of ministry, and you were so in line wiith that calling. You had your oppurtunity and you siezed it. Then He called you away. Away to a new place you’ve only visited a couple of days at a time. You know the lifestyle of the place and know it will be a struggle. But God reminds you that you are equipped and ready. So you go, You go to the place God has promised you is where you should be. You encounter resistance upon first arrival, but God is with you. He was with you just like he was with Jonathan son of Saul. You are fighting together fiercefully advancing in the battle. Then, the next thing you know. You’ve ran off without God He went right; you went left. By the time you realize how far away from the battlefront you are, you feel it’s too late. You know the oppurtunities you’ve missed by staying at the campsite and not waking up and fighting like you should have. But at the same time, you think that you can’t even get back into the battle. Like somehow, the frontline is too far in the distance to reach it in time. And if you do reach it before the war is over, you won’t have the pwerful strike you once did. Not only that, but you also feel as though the weapons you once had are gone, and the new ones you have just won’t be powerful enough to strike the enemy. How do you get back into the battle? And once you’re there how do you find your place in the line?

“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” -Matthew 11:12

I want to be a forceful man.

An Intro-ography

So I guess I’ll just jump right into it. I live in Miami, FL. Well, I’m actually still settling in. I moved here a few months ago. I got to Miami under the premis of a student. But I came to Miami ready for more. I met up with an old friend, who is here starting a faith community on South Beach with a couple other guys. I came here knowing all the right things. But now I’m following the call to act on what I know. I’ve learned what “missional” is all about. I’ve found myself being about being missional. I have found a group of people who not only share the calling to be missional, but have brought me up in being missional. Now I just hope that those who knew me when I first came here are noticing the different person I have become. I think that pretty much sums up the basics of who I am.
